Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? Here There Be Dragons! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Wow!  It's Friday again, and we all know what that means - it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on!!  I hope you've had a good week, with plenty of time to do whoop-worthy things you can share!  Let's get started!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

Last week I reported that I had cut out all the little pieces for Nathanael's annual quilt, Dragon Dreams.  Wednesday, while Lilli was over doing some work for me, I started sewing those pieces together.  I had a bit of a hiccup when Lilli looked at the fabric I had chosen ...

Make-A-List Monday - Turtle Not Rabbit! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Well, this week I was more of a turtle than a rabbit - I'm not sure why, I've got plenty of energy, but I didn't do a whole lot on my weekly to-do list.  I think it's because I'm not back in the habit of going to my studio every day and doing work work work!  I'll get there again, but I'll have to re-train myself, just like in doing these blog posts.  Here's how last week went....

1.  Finish cutting out Nathanael's quilt.
Done!  So. Many. Pieces.  But I ...

Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? Progress Is Good, Right? from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Friday is here once again (hallelujah, right?) and we all know what that means - it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on!!  Just as a reminder, it doesn't have to be a finish (good thing!) it can just be whatever is making you do a little happy dance this week!  So let's get started!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

This week I've started a whole lot of things, but haven't finished much - - well, unless you count sewing the last hexie on this top!

I've still got to add borders and do the quilting, but it ...

Make-A-List Monday - Slowly Making Progress! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

And another week begins!!  Mondays are wonderful, aren't they? A fresh new week to play with!  I'm still getting back in the swing of things, so I didn't get as much done as I'd like, but I did make some progress.  Let's take a look!

1.  Put borders on the string quilt and turn it over to someone else for finishing.

Done!  I think this is going to be a beautiful finished quilt - I'll find the perfect backing for it and bundle it up for someone else to quilt.

2.  Pull/buy ...

Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? Well Begun Is Half Done.. from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Friday has rolled around once again, and we all know what that means, right?  It's time for us to get our whoop whoop on!!  I hope you are ready - I know I am - so let's get started!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

I started on the grandkids' annual quilts this week - and well begun is half done, right?  Theses beautiful fabrics will be part of Lilli's annual quilt this year!  This is the first cut; my next step is to sew them together in strip sets and then cut again into strips of five 2.5" squares.

These are the ...

Make-A-List Monday - Vacation's Over, Back to Work! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Vacation's over, and we managed to miss the ravages of Hurricane Ian.  We were staying on Tybee Island in Georgia, very close to the waterfront, and out of an abundance of caution, left on Thursday just ahead of the storm.  It was sad to cut our trip short, but we didn't want to drive back through wind and rain, and we have a lovely porch to spend time on at home!

I did get some things done on my to-do list, so let's see how it went...

1.  Keep working on my hexie quilt.

Done ...

Make A List Monday - Time to Get Back Up On the Horse! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

It's time for me to get back on the horse and get to work in my studio - and the best way I know to do that is with a list!  So today my list will be all of the quilt-y things that are on my horizon for the next few months.

1.  Annual quilt for Lilli.

I'm planning a postage stamp quilt for Lili, made with some beautiful Kaffe Fassett shot cottons in deep muted colors that I have on hand.  They aren't particularly my colors, but they are definitely hers!

2.  Annual quilt for ...

Make-A-List Monday - Fall is For Quilting! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Has it started turning cooler where you are?  I keep waiting for those cool days but so far, they're a no-show.  Soon, though!  In the meantime I'll be enjoying the last little bit of summer weather.

Now, though, it's time to see how I did with last week's to-do list....

1.  Quilt Lilli's annual quilt (while she's out of town and not looking over my shoulder!)
Done!  I'm so happy with the way this turned out!

2.  Work on those Christmas pillow covers!
I finished three "JOY" pillow covers, one for ...

Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? Let The Fun Begin! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Fall, Friday, and fun!  What could be better?  I do love this season - the cooler weather, shorter days, and the colors of fall.  Plus the holidays just around the corner - can you believe that there are only eleven more Fridays until Christmas? (Sorry for those of you who like to live in denial...)  But Friday also means it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on - are you ready?  Let's go!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

It's been a busy and productive week in my studio!  First of all, I finished this pretty table runner...

Tons and tons of ...

Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? WIP Progress! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Welcome to the first Friday in October!  Have the leaves started changing color where you are?  I love this time of year, probably because I grew up in Miami, FL where the leaves NEVER change, and I'm enjoying watching the tree outside my sewing room window.  Every day there's a little more color showing!  While that's whoop-worthy, I bet I can come up with some sewing whoop-whoops, too, and I imagine you've got some too.  So let's get started!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

It's been a busy week at my place!  I've been having so ...

Make-A-List Monday - Chugging Right Along! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Welcome to a new week!  Fall seems to be flirting with us as the leaves on the trees try on little hints of color and the weather gets cooler.  My favorite season!  Plus fall and winter just seem to be made for quilting, don't they?  And I've definitely been doing some of that this week.  So let's see how last week's list went...

1.  Make a back for the hockey quilt.
Done, but no picture - it's just a plain old back!

2.  Quilt at least one of the grands' annual quilts.
Done - and ...

Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? Well Begun Is Half Done... from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

 Hi, all!

Well, it's official - it's now less than 100 days until the end of 2021!  After today, there are only fourteen more Fridays left in the year.  Hard to believe, isn't it?  This year seems to have flown by - but there's still time to get our whoop whoop on!  So let's get started...

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

You may have read earlier that I am participating in the WIPs-B-Gone 2021 100 day challenge hosted by Leanne (@devotedquilter) on Instagram.  Well, here's my pile of WIPs that I'm hoping to bust through by New Year's Eve ...

Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? A Finish, and Progress! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

I know it's hard to believe, but it's September!  This year is just whipping along, isn't it?  Now's the time, though, when we'll all start having some finishes - some we can share, some we can't - but we can all cheer each other on as we work!  So gather up your whoop-whoop-worthy stuff and let's get started!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

Well, it's been a couple of busy weeks around here, and I've finally got my sew-jo back, which means that things are moving right along on the quilting front.  First of all, here ...

Make-A-List Monday - Back in the Groove! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

After a tumultuous weekend for much of the South, Monday has finally arrived! If you were affected by Hurricane Ida, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.  The scenes we've been seeing on television of the storm damage have been horrific, and it looks like it will be a long time before things are back to normal.  We are now getting the first of the rain bands from Ida here in Tennessee, so we've got a couple of rainy days ahead of us, which means more quilting time!  I've got projects lined ...

Make-A-List Monday - Getting Back To Normal! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

It's Monday, and I'm actually starting to feel my sew-jo coming back!  I made progress on some things last week, and it feels so good - and I actually want to work on more stuff this week.  So let's see how last week's list went...

1.  Finish the borders on the third memory quilt.
Done!  I love these three quilts and how each is similar, but not exactly alike.

2.  Make the backs for those three quilts.
Done!  I didn't get a separate picture, but the backs are that blue fabric on the left ...

Make-A-List Monday - Phil, Where Are You? from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Welcome to a brand new week!  Here's hoping my sew-jo has come back (I'm not sure yet, but keeping my fingers crossed!) and it will be more productive than the last one.  So let's see how last week's list went...

1.  Quilt at least three quilt ministry quilts, then bind and wash.
I didn't quilt any, but I did bind and wash seven quilts for the quilt ministry...

With the addition of these quilts, we have a sufficient amount of quilts on hand for immediate needs that we can slow down a bit ...

Make-A-List Monday - An Easy Week! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

I'm writing this tonight from a cabin near Chattanooga, where we are enjoying a week away from it all!  We are still basically sheltering in place, just in a different place, which is nice for a change.  We have a beautiful view of Nickajack Lake...

...and on that hill down below us (very very steep, which makes our deck very private!)...

...some beautiful horses, running, or more accurately, walking and grazing, free.  It's fun to watch them!

But enough of that for now - let's see how last week's list went!

1.  Quilt at least ...

Can I Get a Whoop Whoop? When in Quarantine.... from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Friday has rolled around once again - and not just any Friday!  Do you realize that Christmas is six weeks from today????? So it's crunch time!  But before we all get down to the hard stuff, let's take a few minutes to whoop it up!  Are you ready?  Let's go!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

As you know if you saw my blogpost on Monday, my husband and I have been in quarantine this week, because we both tested positive for COVID.  Not to worry, though, he is better and I never had any symptoms, so our quarantine officially ends today ...

Make-A-List Monday - A Productive Week! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Wow, last week was very productive!  I guess I just need to know I have a very limited amount of time and lots to do to get motivated.  So without further ado, here's last week's list and what I did...

1.  Baste and quilt the special project quilt.
Done!  It's all ready to go, and I'll share more about this one after it is gifted.

2.  Make a back for the reindeer quilt.
Done!  And I managed to make it using fabrics I already had on hand - win/win!

3.  Make a back for ...

Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? Dinos in the House! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Can you believe it's Friday already?  This week has flown by - but it IS Friday and that means it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on!  Let's get started!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

My week really did fly by, and I don't feel like I got a whole lot done -but I did start on Nathanael's annual quilt!  I am using Elizabeth Hartman's Dinosaurs pattern, and it is a lot of fun!  I had some trouble with the first dinosaur block I made, but then I went back and actually read her step-by-step instructions ...
